are you referring to the documents filled in the field named "File"? If yes, unfortunately your method can't work because currently the root of the document path (/images) can't be changed by user (see "Files folder path" field in Abook configuration).

Last post by projects - 23 April 2025, 17:40:35In the extension, there is a field for the price of the book. How would I access that field so I could sell the book in someone wanted it? I would like to be able to use a PayPal plugin, or something similar to process the transaction.

Joomla 5.3 has added the "~/files" media folder, so I think integration of PDFs into Abook will look more attractive than using the "~images/" media folder.
Like you, I don't want a system change that requires me to spend hours re-cataloguing the books.
Would the method below work?
1. Abook allows users to specify either ~/images/LibraryBooks or ~/files/LibraryBooks.
2. User administrators who want to move to ~/files do these steps:
2.1 Duplicate their existing ~/images/LibraryBooks folder eg to ~/images/LibraryBooksDuplicated
2.2 Move ~/images/LibraryBooksDuplicated to ~/files/LibraryBooksDuplicated
2.4 Rename ~/files/LibraryBooksDuplicated to ~/files/LibraryBooks
2.5 Go to Alexandria Book Library "Options", Book tab, and change the Files folder path option from ~/images/LibraryBooks to ~/files/LibraryBooks.
2.6 Test the retrieval of PDFs and other Abook functionality, and, if all OK,
2.6.1 Delete ~/images/LibraryBooks

I think I have fixed it !
There was one book that had a * flag ... not sure why or how that happened.
I opened the book, and saved it again, * flag was gone.
Checked the Global Check in ... no message anymore regarding abook table.
Ran the Joomla Update Checker ... seems like I am ready to go 😀
