Extra field using ISBN

I could use an extra field for an inventory number. Since I'm not using the ISBN field I thought I could use it for that, but I'm not sure if this field is defined for 10 or 13 numbers. Is there any way to make it alphanumeric, so it accepts free text?

Solved - I think. It seems to be an alphanumeric field. It wasn't published though, so I couldn't see it on the frontend. You can close this thread.
