Home page like demo site

Hi,  I have installed abook and set up a menu item using the 'Categories' view, but I would like my page to look like the demo site with the tabs for categories, search, authors etc., can someone tell me how to achiebe this please? thanks.

the tabs are menu items. My template shows menu items like a tabs serie.
