It's possible to protect the file link?

Hi, I need to protect the file link, so only registered users can download files. Right now any user can download files using the direct access link. If a user uses the direct access link he receives an error message. It's possible to do that?

very hard to reply to this question. Federica's work is at good point. There's some adjustment to do to frontend search module and some other things to do to make abook to work on Joomla 3.
But this is all we can tell about.
