Title: Problems with search menu item
Post by: doctor78 on 15 December 2014, 10:11:47
How exactly does the search menu item works? I currently have 4 filters (category, author, tag and year) but to me it looks like this is not a proper search but more a filter because I cannot search by author or tag or year if I don't choose a category first. Could you elaborate this a little more? Or is it a bug? Or can I set it up somewhere that I am not aware to achive this kind of functionality.

thx

You can try to set these options by search menu:
Show Parent: none
Subcategory Levels: all

Now it is ok?

Dear Frederika,

I am using your component and is very nice. I will donate as soon as i will finish the project.

I am creating this site http://prenit.geo-zs.si/revijageologija/index.php/sl/iskanje and the search confuses me. My college already wrote to you and just got a reply. We tried what you said and it still list all book when we go to this link. This is not good in my opinion. It should be empty at beggining. Only after search parameters are put in and search the we should see the list of books. Or am i wrong?

Yes, when you go to search menu item the page shows all books then you can use the filter to search you like.
You are right but somebody prefers the search to starts empty, somebody else prefers the search to starts showing all books. I cannot to satisfy both requests and I have chosen to show all books.

No, there isn't a easy way. I hope to have an idea sooner or later.
