Hello! I have a problem translating the Cyrillic component (in my case Bulgarian). After I enter the required text it is visualized with some unknown symbols. Can you give me some advice on how to fix this? I use Joomla 4 and the latest version of Alexandria Book Library.
Hi k.rasheva,
check if you database supports your languages. Tables must be utf8mb4_unicode_ci collation.
Thanks for the recent reply! You must be right, but I have no idea how to check and correct this. Can you give me some pointers?
You want to translate using language override tools or using the .ini files?
I made a translation in the language file (bg-BG.com_abook.ini) of the component.

If you send me the translation file I try to check it on my server.
I'm sending it as a shared file via Google Drive. Thank you!

Your file is not working even on my server.
You have to convert the file encoding from "ASCII text" to "UTF-8 Unicode text" (see this tool https://www.freeformatter.com/convert-file-encoding.html)
After the file is converted you can translate the text strings.
Make sure your editor is able to save in "UTF F-8 Unicode text" encoding. Try to convert the file after edit is not a good option.
