In the menu item that displays a list of authors, I indicate - Show number of books.

I did as you said, created a Search menu, and configured the display of filters in it, but nothing helps.
All filters are available.

Uninstall the previous version and reinstall com_abook_4_0_2Beta.zip.
It installed fine.
I first saved the database and then loaded it.
New categories are created normally.
