Hi, thanks for a nice joomla application!

I have a problem with defining new categories. I have six categories defined as "no parent" and want to add another one (called "German" on the attached screen shot, but it always comes up as a su-category to the last category ("Nonfiction"), even though I defined it as "no parent", and in the menu it refers to the foirst category ("Fiction") and shows the wrong books. Can you help?

Hi,

I sorted this out by going into the MySQL tables and fixing things manually. Still not clear why this happened. It continued to happen when I set up more categories and I had to go back to the MySQL tables. But all categories do work now.

Now the next question is: How does the search function work? The "advanced search" (see the attachment) does not do anything. Entering something into the search field and pressing return or the button just displays all books, the same as selecting "ALL" from the alphabet list. That is not very useful.

Hi Matthias,
a problem for time, pease. Post the next question to another topic.

Try to delete the "German" category, empty the trash and click the "Rebuild" button. Then try again to create the "German" category.
