Ciao Federica,
finalmente sto inserendo volumi e bibliografia in grande quantità nella versione 3.0 che avevo importato dalla 2.5, come sai...
Mi sono imbattuto in questo errore che mi impedisce sia di richiamare le vecchie CATEGORIE per poter completare la descrizione, sia l'inserimento di nuove...

500 Layout edit_associations non trovato

Prova ad andare nelle categorie e cliccare sul bottone "Rigenera".
Mi sembra uno strano errore, non capisco cosa c'entri "edit_associations", non l'ho neanche usato.
Mi servirebbe sapere l'url della pagina di errore.

Ecco la pagina, ho fatto RIGENERA ma purtroppo niente da fare, non riesco a modificare le categorie e a creare delle nuove...

non ho ricevuto richieste di supporto per questo errore, a parte la tua.
I permessi delle cartelle sono a posto? Eventualente prova a reimpostarli

Sospetto che manchi un file o che non riesca a leggerlo, prova a scaricare di nuovo Abook e reainstallarlo senza disinstallare.

Eventualmente potresti provare a fare un'installazione pulita (scarica di nuovo il componente dal sito) e importare tutto quello che hai nell'attuale installazione su questa nuova (magari esportando in sql così sposti tutto in un botta sola). Solo per fare un test. Perchè non capisco come mai tu non riesca modificare le categorie.

OK, provo prima con le cartelle, che permessi dovrebbero avere: 755 ?

Ho reinstallato il componente ma ancora niente da fare... :( :(
Io ora proverei con l'ultima possibilità, spero di non dovere ridigitare tutto il lavoro già fatto... :P

Metti i permessi più permissivi che puoi.

Ho eseguto un'installazione "pulita" sul mio dominio di prova e tutto sembra ok, provo ora a disinstallare e rifare tutto su ERGOCERT.net e speriamo tutto vada bene...  8)

 :( :( Fatto... reinstallato il componente dopo averlo disinstallato ma niente da fare... appena apro una categoria mi da lo stesso errore...
Che posso fare ? ti creo un utente e dai un'occhiata tu F. ?

Se sull'installazione pulita funziona tutto vuol dire che Abook è a posto. Il problema sarà un altro.

No, non è così, le due installazioni non sono uguali, nell'installazione di prova hai installato tante altre estensioni, non poi sapere se ci sono delle incompatibilità.

Hai provato ad importare tutti i libri nell'installazione di prova?

Purtroppo dopo un paio d'ore di analisi del file di log non siamo venuti a capo del problema, non mi restano che due possibilità, o ridigito tutto partendo da zero e senza importare il DB dalla versione 2.5 oppure implemento la vecchia versione funzionante e poi periodicamente importo sulla 3.3... sinceramente non riesco a capire...

Mi dispiace che tu non sia riuscito a risolvere, secondo me è qualche altra estensione che da fastidio ad Abook. Adesso non ricordo se lo avevi già fatto, ma prova a disabilitare tutte le estensioni che hai installato.

Avevo deciso di reinstallare in modo pulito e senza le estensioni Abook e poi rimettermi a inserire da capo i dati... ho provato e a DB vuoto sono andato in inserimento delle categorie... purtroppo nulla da fare sempre lo stesso problema... Mi dispisce tantissimo perchè mi ero affezionato a questo componente...  :'(

I have this problem too.
- Joomla! 3.3.6 (clear) only 1 component added (ABOOK)
- Alexandria Book Library 3.0.0

Admin menu (ADD CATEGORY) return the ERROR
An error has occurred.
{500} Layout edit_associations not found

I try export category from site joomla 2.5 and import in this new. OK.
But i can not edit or create category.

IN LOG

After it i try find some files and view log.
After rename this file error changed.
Please analyse that files for correct php code.

AND i find resolved situation for other components (by the log error string).

Turbolinux, ho trovato l'errore, l'ho già corretto nella versione di sviluppo, ma non ho mai tempo di fare i test per pubblicare la versione nuova.

But i dont understand it because i have small experience in joomla programm.

And i tested more. Some trouble.
Search tools in category ok.
BUT in search page all filters empty and 2 millimetrs width each of authors, years and etc.
In category page in component searchform with elements in filters, in different page from menu item searchform bad (without filters).
And in component on category page searchsorm have category filter as empty. Oter filters Authors, years ,... with elements, but category filter is empty.

May be this solved too?

P.S. I planing create (in short term) subdomain as open library with 3000-4000 items.
And i can create uk-UA (UKRAINIAN) translate package for your component.
Is it interest for you?

Ho fatto un'istallazione nuova senza le estensioni di Abook e poi ho corretto la riga 34, niente di nuovo, l'errore resta e le categorie non sono modificabili...

Ho òappena provato ad installare il componente anche su un'altro sito che non è in produzione e che stiamo elaborando.
La situazione è diversa da ERGOCERT.net, il template è diverso e i componenti sono standard di Rockettheme il template è questo: http://demo.rockettheme.com/live/joomla/vermilion/

Potrebbe essere un errore di javascript.
Il link ad una categoria è simile a questo:

quando ci clicchi sopra  viene trasformato in questo:
http://tuosito.it/administrator/index.php?option=com_abook&view=category&layout=edit&id=2

In teoria scrivendo il secondo url direttamente nella barra degli indirizzi dovresti poter modificare la categoria con id 2. Prova. Ovviamente sostituisci il numero 2 con l'id della categoria che vuoi modificare.

The id=2 is the number of category id.

I tryed many times different links as

and
.../administrator/index.php?option=com_abook&view=category&layout=edit&id=2
BUT error as before.
And after error tryed for edit category with lock icon. Icon disabled ok.

Hi Igor,
I split the last post to another one because it is a different topic ( http://forum.voxpopulix.org/errori-%28bugs%29/search-form-problem/ ).

The log is very useful, the path /SiteName/includes/js does not exist, your site cannot include the javascript file. Your error  maybe depend on this problem.

Hi, I'm completely new here  :)

I have this same issue and can't quite figure out if you have found a solution or not.  I'm using Joomla 3.3.6 and I have installed the component as well as the module and plugins and under the "Extras" the xmap plugin.  When I try to create a category I get this error.  I would love to be able to get this to work!!

(1) About js error. That library js FILE only in your component subdir and error in your php.
I fixed it in php. Link in source ok. Error log about js clear.
But error about 500 edit_association in admin as before.

In your demo admin (Joomla 3.3.1, Abook 3.0.0)
I create new subdomain. Installed OLD clear version of joomla 3.3.1 and abook 3.0.0
All elements and category added by 1-2.
But after upgrade joomla from 3.3.1 to last version 3.3.6 i have new bags in category.
Can not create new category as main without parent.
If i save main category as subcategory i can not resave as not parents option.
Some of url in categories page crashed.
After trying resave parents option of category page category list on site crashed.
This is fist result about test. And more and more errors.

Try to upgrade Joomla to 3.3.6 in your DEMO site and you will see all new errors.
That component not tested to correct work in last version of joomla (3.3.6).

I am sorry, but i need delete all tested for abook subdomains (5!!!) with any version and variants.
It is lost many time without good results.
I will try other way for library.

I think that this problem appears only on multilingual sites.

go to Extension Manager-> manage and disable all extensions for multilanguage, then try to create a new category.
Which multilanguage extension you are using?

Tryed to do some.
I just unpublished multilingual plugin and Abook become to work good. After I published it again, I see known error 500 edit_associations.
As I know associations are very useful functionality for sites with two or more languages. Due to associations you can correspond different menu items as the one menu item (only in many languages).

Ancora una piccola cosa. il plugin plg_jcomment_com_abook_3_0_0.tgz non si installa in quanto joomla non trova il file di setup xml

Grazie a tutti per avermi aiutato a capire il problema, nella prossima versione sistemerò definitivamente il problema. Per correggere l'errore è sufficiente creare il file:
administrator/components/com_abook/views/category/tmpl/edit_associations.php
e incollare questo codice al suo interno

This is wrong way. Joomla 3.3.6 have not that JS.

I will check the code, perhaps that file is no longer needed.

I have created a new file: edit_associations.php that contains the following code:

Uploaded it into the folder "administrator/components/com_abook/views/categories/tmpl"

And I still get the error "500  Layout edit_associations not found" when I try to create a new category.  What am I missing?

xega, you have to upload the file in to this path:
administrator/components/com_abook/views/category/tmpl/edit_associations.php

Ah I see.  I uploaded it to the subfolder categories and not category.  Thanks!
