Title: import: file type issue on Mac OS Sierra
Post by: richardh9935 on 04 November 2016, 05:08:56
I have created a CSV file delimited by semi-colons and using double-quote marks for each field.  It is named with a .CSV extension.  However, when attempting to import, I cannot select the appropriate file.   I used the "choose file" button and my local file system appeared.  I navigated to the appropriate folder, but the CSV file was not selectable.  It was grey.

If I changed the file name extension to .TXT, the file became selectable.  However, the IMPORT procedure reported an error:
Error
The file must have the '.csv' extension

How can I overcome this?

You must to save the file .csv

Sorry, my mistake.

Mac OS File Manager has a filter called "modified file" which I didn't know had been turned On.  Once I turned that filter off, I could select the .csv file properly.

The anomaly was between (Safari) and (Chrome).  One view of the file uploader showed an extra option which enabled me to select the relevant file.

In the end, I retreated to creating multiple SQL INPUT INTO files.
