Using Joomla 2.5.2
Tried to install ALL in ONE MODULE "mod_abook_allinone_1_0_4.tar.gz"
It says;
Warning: Failed to move file!
Unable to read archive

you have to check the modules folder permission.
Look at permissions of joomla on
menu site->system information->Directory Permissions
The folder status must be "writeble" for all folders.
All my folders are WRITABLE

The permissions are ok.
Check if your server is able to extract the tar.gz files.
I have installed 4-5 module with tar.gz format ???
You can try to follow this steps:
- unpack the .tar.gz file
- zip again the files
- install the new package
