Title: Using abook import needs semi-colons and ALL fields
Post by: richardh9935 on 03 November 2016, 23:16:45
Your standard response to people wanting help to import books in bulk is clear, but incomplete.

Firstly, you say "colon" but then specify semi-colon.  Later, you specify the opposite for AUTHORS and TAGS fields.  The first is ":" and the second is ";".  Does this matter to Abook?

Secondly, you do not tell us that the import file MUST contain data for all fields, even if empty.  eg ;""; must appear for empty fields, because the parser can only work with positional parameters in this case.  (The parser could not know which fields were being omitted.)

You can make a csv export for 1 book only so you get the right syntax. It is the way easiest I known.
Near the import form you can see the instruction to create a csv import file.
