Hi!

I install Alexandria in my joomla website, and it is working perfectly. My Joomla is with caching pages off, and Alexandria language are in english, but i want to change it.
I found the INI file en-GB.com_abook.ini and translate directly, but even refreshing, logout and logon, waiting some hours, the changes do not reflect on frontend.
Very, very strange, because this is the only INI english translation file in entire component folder.

I am using joomla 2.5.4 running on Linux server hosted on GoDaddy. What I need to do to translation works?

Thanks!

Hi llagerlof,
you can find the english translations files at this paths:
front-end: <your_site>/components/com_abook/language/en-GB/
back-end: <your_site>/administrator/components/com_abook/language/en-GB/

Have you modified this files?

In which language you want to translate Abook?

Thanks for the reply, Federica.

I am trying to translate the frontend in /components/com_abook/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_abook.ini.
The destination language is brazillian portuguese. I translate all strings that I need, but the translation is not being reflected in frontend.
Example: In "COM_ABOOK_BACK_TO_TOP" I change the original string "BACK TO TOP" to "InĂcio", and in "COM_ABOOK_ADVANCED_SEARCH" I put "Pesquisar". However in my frontend breadcrumb is still appearing "BACK TO TOP".
Below the search box is still appearing "Advanced search".

Well, I am attaching my partially translated file, but I think the problem is not with the file. (I change the suffix to .txt to attach in this message).

I hope we found the strange problem!

Do you have enabled joomla cache? If yes disable it or clear it.

My Joomla cache is disabled since I install Joomla. Anyway, I tried clear the cache, but the cache was already empty.  :'(

The Alexandria use some aditional caching technique?
